William Guthrie is an architect living and practicing in London. He studied architecture at Cambridge, Edinburgh and London Metropolitan University, qualifying as an architect in 2015. Established in 2020, his practice seeks to make thoughtful buildings and spaces that support and enrich the environments in which they are constructed and the lives of the individuals and communities they serve. The practice looks at things through a wide lens, drawing inspiration and finding direction from a great range of sources, and aspires to reflect in its work the remarkable depth and variety of the world and its many cultures. Central to the practice’s values is an interest in how buildings are assembled, practically and theoretically, and the means by which architecture addresses the particular conditions - physical, environmental, social, cultural - of its setting.
